『微』觀——經典微國家暨西提王國特展

由行人出版社策劃，與島民工作室及西提王國合作的「『微』觀——經典微國家暨西提王國特展」，將在2008年6月5日至24日期間，假島民工作室之 「白方糖畫廊」（台北市大安區潮州街95號），展出世界各地十餘個經典微國家的精彩影像與建國故事，並訂於2008年6月7日（週六）下午三點鐘舉辦開幕 酒會暨藝術家座談會。
相對於「宏觀」或「大觀」等詞彙所揭示的「碩大就是美」，「微觀」意謂著另一種觀看的方式，另一種思考角度和價值取向。『微』觀，也可以擘畫出另一 幅不認同既有強權價值觀的建國藍圖，遍佈世界各地的微國家分類混雜、各色並存，其難以定義的真實存在狀態，正寓示著國家想像的無限可能。本次展覽將囊括十 餘個經典微國家精彩影像及建國故事，具體而微呈現出微世界的縮影；西提王國更將在本次特展中展示如何打造一個「沒有的地方」的微國家建國歷程。圍觀∕微觀 『微國家』，瞭解世界微情勢，重新思索國家之於個人的意義。
微國家不是在一般世界地圖上找得到的國家；大多時候，微國家就是市井小民如你我，自行宣布「獨立」而建立的國度。占領外海鑽油平台可以自成一國，在 屋宅後院可以宣布獨立，搭乘新興網路科技也可以任領土漂浮於網路之海……。微國家通常規模不大，但國民、領土、政府，甚至護照、郵票、貨幣，一應俱全，更 曾相互號召舉辦微奧運會和微高峰會。
西提王國創立於2006年11月11日，建造於地球實體空間之外的網路世界，並在地球上四處占領區域作為大使館，或者設立機動辦事處。西提王國主張 「去國土化」、「消弭邊界」、「反戰」、「反過度資本化」、「文化平等」以及朝向「烏托邦世界」發展，以此作為建國之六大精神。西提王國的主要成員是台灣 藝術大學的一群學生，最初以藝術計畫的方式呈現，曾獲得2007年台北數位藝術獎網路組入圍。
about the exhibition
As macro-scope adheres to the beauty of largeness, microscope provides alternative angles to seeing and thinking. A microscopic view may express opposition to the existing power stratification just as the various operations of micronations, whose existence is undeniable but difficult to define, may bring up numberless possibilities when a nation is imagined.
The exhibition displays documents of 10 classic micronations to present epitomes of a rich micro-world. The country-building history of Citynoland, a micronation built in cyberspace, is also showed in a highly creative way.
